GRAIN LINE & ITS TYPES

Grain line: In the case of woven fabric grain line indicates warp i.e. longwise direction. And in the case of knit fabric, it indicates the wales direction. In pattern grain line is indicated by an arrow and generally this arrow must lie parallel to the selvedge of the fabric. [1, 2]

tYPES OF GRAIN LINE : 

                                   1. Lengthwise Grain

                                   2. Crosswise Grain

                                   3. Bias Grain
